Our New Altar Boy!
Teddy served at his first Liturgy yesterday. We were so proud of him! He told me that he loved it and that he can't wait for next Sunday to serve again. He said that he couldn't wait to be an altar boy like the other big boys because he didn't like to sit in the pew with the girls and the little kids!!! Hmmm... He also said that when you're an altar boy you get more respect from people.

St. John Chrysostom's Silver Jubilee
Yesterday was the 25th anniversary of our parish. We had liturgy and a formal dinner at the Knights of Columbus.
About 20 priests from the diocese came. Since Dominic is the president of the St John's men's group now he was in charge of organizing the priests' pick up from the airport. The celebration of the jubilee coincided with a retreat that all these priests went to.
Roman Catholic Bishop Alex Brunett of the Seattle Diocese was there and also our Byzantine Bishop William of the Van Nuys Diocese.
The whole event was beautifully organized. Credit goes to Sean Pepper and Michael Mandelas who have been working on this for the past year.
